About Chilean Wines

Chilean wines are easily the world's most ecologically-sound, organically-produced wines. Dry summers help keep pests and mildew away while natural barriers shelter vineyards from phylloxera and other diseases. The near-absence of naturally-occurring pests and disease allow wineries to grow their grapes under some of the world's most natural conditions.

Characteristics of Chilean Wines

- Intense fruit fragrance
- Good colour because of the abundance of polyphenoles and anthocyanins
- Gentle wines because their tannins mature quickly, consequently the wines are apt to be consumed young
-The application of controlled watering enables to obtain controllable and balanced crops
-The successful production of high quality wines is obtained easily through the control of vigour and production.

The official birth of the Chilean wine is defined in a document signed in Santiago on March 9, 1555, called "Birth Certificate of the Chilean Wine"

We know that as an Importer or Distributor, you are looking for unique products that will set your product portfolio apart from the rest. We also know how costly, time-consuming, and daunting a task it can be to travel personally to South America in search of those special gems. On the other hand, we know that there are many outstanding wineries throughout Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay in the reverse position: they have the wine you’re looking for and are seeking representation in the international market.

It is our job to put the two parties the Producer and the Importer together. We have extensive experience in the local and international wine industries and vast knowledge of Southern Cone wines and products that ensures prompt and efficient shipping in large or small quantities. The strategy for success in any industry is to focus its energy and resources to the best of its capacity. We at Terroir Austral are in the privileged position of matching producers and buyers in a manner that benefits both parties. We believe that when everyone is able to concentrate on what they do best, everyone wins.
